Chad and I had the pleasure of making a promo video for 108 Budleigh. We seized the opportunity to use our 5d MkII video mode and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Congratulations to Kathryn and Terry, and thank you for letting us follow you around all day! A big thanks to Allison with 108 Budleigh for coordinating the whole thing, and also to Mary Basnight for being so great to work alongside.
Chad and I met Kelsey and Raleigh through a mutual friend from our high school days. Thanks for the recommendation, Ben! Kelsey, Raleigh, and their wedding party were so fun and easy going that it made the ridiculous heat wave that we were facing so much easier to manage. Thank you all for being such troopers…I think we all lost of few pounds that day! Kelsey had a simple elegance about her, and Raleigh was all smiles just looking at her. 108 Budleigh was the perfect setting for such a classy wedding.

Luckily for the guys, the bar and air conditioning was in close reach![]()

I love this next shot. Kelsey looks so excited to get down that dock, and her dad couldn’t be any prouder.

Chad and I took creative advantage of the “city” setting with their portraits. A very refreshing change of pace!

Raleigh and his mom shared the most memorable mother/son dance I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing! They assumed the usual slow dance stance, but the music quickly turned into DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s “Summertime.” Raleigh and his mom broke it down!

The rest of the night was all fun and dancing…

Congrats Kelsey & Raleigh!

Every time summer rolls around, Chad and I make a resolution to get to the beach more often. We’re talking about that lazy, beach chair, cooler, and some shades type of beach session. Well, we’ve managed to get to the beach A LOT, but we’ve replaced the chair and cooler with some really fun families. We have been shooting beach portrait after beach portrait this summer, and while we can’t blog about every family we meet, I do want to share some highlights and some fun shots. I’m calling this round 1 because there will be at least one more post dedicated to more awesome families later in the month. Enjoy!

Susan and Tobias got married in South Nags Head at a quiet beach access with their closest family and friends. They continued the celebration with dinner and cake at Lone Cedar on the Nags Head causeway. The weather was great, and Susan & Tobias were kiddy with excitement throughout the evening. Congrats and enjoy!

Ashley and Drew met in junior high and have been dating for 8 1/2 years! What a surprise that they are now married
Another beautiful beach day set the stage for an equally beautiful and intimate ceremony. Guests gathered back at the house to enjoy some food and fun. Congrats, Ashley and Drew!
